Coworking. What is it? How to use it?

The internet has transformed people's lives and their work in the 21st century. It used to have to be done in a very specific place. Today, however, remote work is common, which can be performed from anywhere in the world, especially when it comes to freelancers. However, it is good to have a place where you can focus or meet a client, and a house or apartment does not always provide the right conditions. Often work also requires more concentration, and then comes the mysterious term coworking. Many people consider coworking space as the most convenient solution, which can be used by a person looking for a place to work. What is coworking? And what does the very term coworking mean?

Coworking has not appeared in the Polish dictionary until recently. This has changed in just a few years as technology has changed the way many people work. Some believe that coworking has had a revolutionary impact on the development of young businesses.

The word coworking literally means "working together", "working together", and this explanation itself reflects well its essence. To put it in a few words: coworking is about renting a place to work in a common, open space. This solution is especially for young companies and entrepreneurs who are just starting an adventure with business, who either do not have the appropriate funds to rent an office permanently, or do not want to be tied in their work with one specific place, because mobility is of value to them. The coworking space is also used by freelancers or people who have long been running a business, who for various reasons want to save money. Working in a coworking space also allows you to separate your private life from your professional life and ensure proper hygiene of work and life, which is often a big problem for people who work mainly from home.

In the coworking space can be any person, regardless of the industry, which he is engaged in, as long as he does not perform activities that prevent other tenants from working. However, this does not mean that absolute silence should be maintained in the common coworking space. However, the place is mainly suitable for people doing office work. In coworking halls you can often meet journalists, architects, copywriters, programmers, translators, etc.
At the disposal of the tenants remains a common space adequately prepared for work.

There are not only desks and chairs, but also other necessary for business things and amenities. Access to high-speed internet, usually in the form of wi-fi, is a fundamental issue that an entrepreneur working in the coworking space can count on. In most coworking locations, each workstation is also equipped with a computer, which can be used by the tenant. In addition, in the common area there are also office equipment, as well as a separate dining area where you can warm up food or drink a hot drink, such as coffee or tea. A sanitary area is also available in each coworking area. In the space for coworking are often also chairs or sofas. They can be used for relaxation or for work, if someone likes to perform their tasks in comfortable conditions.

Coworking. How to use it?

Coworking offers are very flexible, tailored to the needs of customers, resulting from the specifics of their work. In practice, this means that renters can take advantage of really many rental options. Among other things, the game involves renting the desk itself for a few hours or a few months. This is one of the easiest forms of coworking available. In the case of startups or small companies, it is common practice to rent entire rooms for group meetings. However, these meetings usually take place at long intervals.
The form of rent usually depends mainly on the landlord. For example, instead of opting for one position, an entrepreneur might ask for several side-by-side desks and use coworking with their employees.
